Classification of the MCA bifurcation. Type I, one right branch and one left branch of the MCA branch from the common trunk. Type II, one right branch and one left branch of the MCA branch separately from the SMA. Type II is divided into two subtypes. Type IIa, one right branch and one left branch of the MCA branch from the SMA. Type IIb, one right branch and two left branches of the MCA branch from the SMA.
