Cell morphology analysis of CTCs/CTM detected in the peripheral blood of RCC patients: A–D Cells were separated by the ISET method, and the cells of RCC patients were stained with Diff-Quik, showing malignant cell characteristics. CTCs (A–C): (1) nucleocytoplasmic ratio > 0.8, abnormally large nucleoli; (2) cell nucleus diameter > 18 mm, irregular nucleus shape; and (3) thickened jagged and wrinkled nuclear membrane, uneven staining, and lateral shift of chromatin. CTM (D): presence of the accumulation of tumour cells (≥ 3)
