The signal characteristic of enlarged pituitary gland is non-specific, including hypointense signal on T2- weighted images and intermediate signal on T1-weighted images, with no water restriction on diffusion-weighted imaging. The most specific finding is non-enhancement of the pituitary gland, suggestive of infarction or so-called apoplexy.Back to article page
