Five-year overall survival rates in stage I lung cancer were significantly associated to the level diffusion capacity with hazard ratio of 0.11 (95 % CI, 0.05–0.24) in the group with DLCO less than 80 % and with hazard ratio of 0.06 (95 % CI, 0.02–0.13) in the group with DLCO less than 60 %
