Histopathology of the tumor. (a) The tumor mainly comprises short spindle cells with deeply stained nuclei. Few mitoses are observed (Hematoxylin and eosin [H & E]); (b) Some areas of vascular proliferation show larger vessels arranged in a ‘staghorn’ pericytoma pattern; (c) Immunostaining for CD34 reveals many tumor cells with positive staining in the cytoplasm.
