Intravenous (i.v.) administration through the tail vein of 7.4 MBq of 18F-FDG for microPET imaging of LS174T xenograft mouse model. MicroPET imaging is shown at approximately 50 minutes after injection in coronal, maximum intensity projection, and transaxial views. Only very weak 18F-FDG activity was noted within the LS174T tumor implant. In contrast, significant tumor-nonspecific 18F-FDG accumulation was noted in the heart, Harderian glands within the bony orbits of the eyes, brown fat of the posterior neck region, kidney, and bladder.
